Friday, August 22nd. Aberystwyth to Machynlleth
Leaving Aberystwyth we wind our way along the Dyfi estuary to Machynlleth where everybody can check their credentials at the Centre For Alternative Technology. This fascinating place is dedicated to conservation and clean energy – even the lift is water powered!
From Machynlleth it’s more lanes via the famous Bwlch y Groes hill, one of the highest public road passes in Wales at 1788 feet, and Bala to the historic market town of Ruthin and a two night stay in Ruthin Castle. The evening dinner will a medieval banquet with appropriate entertainment.
